Fret-free Clavichord after Johann Heinrich Silbermann 1775

Son of the famous organ builder Andreas Silbermann, who ran a workshop in Strasbourg together with his brother Gottfried, Johann Heinrich's instruments are in the family tradition of the Alsatian workshop. The original from 1775, now in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, has several almost identical siblings, probably also by Johann Heinrich's hand. Their sound, accessible playability and craftsmanship are still convincing today.
